Version 4 (modified by michelpons, 4 years ago) (diff)

Updated "2018" to "2020" to reflect current situation. Mentioned that Phase 1 was done in 2016 while Phase 2 is being finalized in 2020 (public release of SDK/Runtime).

The CAPE-OPEN Binary Interop Architecture (COBIA) project aims at developing an object model developed, distributed and maintained by CO-LaN and specifically geared to CAPE-OPEN, with the aim being to make CAPE-OPEN development easier, portable, quicker and platform independent while keeping high performance in mind.

The project is split into three phases with only Phases 1 and 2 funded by CO-LaN as of 2020:

Phase 1 (2016): proof of concept of COBIA through development of a prototype

Phase 2 (2020): full Windows native development kit made available

Phase 3: cross-platform interoperability
